Raila, Wajackoyah leave IEBC meeting after Ruto arrives

Two presidential candidates including Raila Odinga (Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya), and George Wajackoya (Roots Party) on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, left a meeting with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) following the arrival of Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto.

Raila and his running mate Martha Karua cited “other engagements” as the reason they left, while Wajackoyah left without uttering a word.

“We want to seek leave to attend to other matters but we have a very robust team behind us. We apologise for leaving before the end, but duty calls,” Karua said
