FEAR NO MORE TEACHERS AND PARENTS

Education cabinet secretary George Magoha asks teachers, parents and students not to be afraid anymore for School and all academic centres    in the 13 counties in Nyanza and Western region that have been drastically affected by covid -19 and have strict measures placed on them to curb the high spread of covid -19 in those counties would not be closed. Magoha has given them an assurance by stating that when the government gave the directive for opening of the schools it had already set and prepared itself on ways to tackle any crisis of corona in the schools and academic institutions.

 Magoha said this yesterday during an event of giving scholarship to beneficiaries of Elimu Scholarship which is a national project to fund needy students. Magoha also said the government has already disbursed funds to school in fight of covid. Hence if in case there will be a covid case in the school, they would only deal with the affected school only and not close the others in the county. “For any reason the schools should be covid free and just I case there will be any case we shall manage it as we have previously done it with the Ministry of interior security and Ministry of Health” said Magoha.

At the same function of issuing of Elimu scholarships the cabinet secretary Magoha also said the text books to be used in the new curriculum mode of study CBC by the grade 5 pupils are ready for they have been published and ready for use come date 5 August come the start of first term. This will be the first time in the country for grade 5 to start learning under the umbrella of new curriculum of CBC.” As far as learning is concerned the books for grade 5 are already in school and once every kid arrives in school come next term, they will find them on their desks”, said Magoha

He promised teachers that as they continue, they are continuing with publishing more for the next grade to ensure their will be smooth running of studies in the schools.
