‘Do Not Be Coerced Into Joining Azimio,’ Wetangula Tells Kalonzo

Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetangula has urged Wiper frontman Kalonzo Musyoka not to give in to the pressure of joining the Azimio la Umoja coalition spearheaded by former premier Raila Odinga.
According to Wetangula, history has already proven that Odinga does not allegedly keep any political pacts he has made in the past.
As such, he opined, the Wiper leader should not be coerced into joining the Azimio outfit as he says the ODM leader will repeat his past transgressions against the former vice president.
Wetangula was speaking in Kisii and Nyamira counties on Wednesday when he led Kenya Kwanza rallies in West Mugirango, South Mugirango and Nyaribari Chache areas in a bid to drum up support for the coalition ahead of the August polls.
“My brother Kalonzo, I want to urge you, don’t lament about what that man has done to you and certainly you are not the last,” Wetangula said.
The Bungoma Senator consequently urged Kalonzo to consider joining the Kenya Kwanza alliance which he says will unify Kenyans and change the country’s fortunes in the event that Deputy President William Ruto clinches the presidency.
“(Odinga) ataendelea kuwatapeli watu. Wewe kuja tutembee pamoja tuunde serikali ya Kenya Kwanza tubadilishe nchi yetu,” he added.
Wetangula’s sentiments come after Kalonzo on Tuesday publicly accused Odinga of going against a 2017 agreement between the two when they formed the National Super Alliance (NASA).
The deal, Kalonzo said, was that Odinga would be the coalition’s presidential candidate and him his running mate for one term, after which Odinga would then back Kalonzo as the presidential flagbearer at the 2022 elections.
